Watching the Watchlist #18 (April Recap, FLUX GOURMET, TETSUO: THE IRON MAN) // Patreon Freebie

Published on: 29th July, 2025

Hello hello! The Specters are working hard on some big pod projects for the fall, so we needed a lil break. We're giving y'all a taste of the Phantom Zone (our Patreon) with a full episode Watching the Watchlist for freeeee. This our monthly show where Garrett & DeVaughn recap their previous months on Letterboxd: we chat the new releases we saw together, random watches on our own, or longtime rewatches.

We kick things off with a spoiler free micro-review of The Ugly Stepsister, as well as our experience of rewatching Sinners in 70mm. After that, the boys discuss first time watches that were assigned by the other person. This episode from a couple months ago has DeVaughn watching Tetsuo: the Iron Man and Garrett checks out Flux Gourmet. Enjoy and considering subscribing to our Patreon today!

New episodes drop every Tuesday, subscribe so you don't miss out. Rate us 5 stars while you're at it! Next week, we're heading to the suburbs for a new theme and kicking things off with Get Out! Enter The Phantom Zone to access all sorts of bonus goodies like our monthly side show "Watching the Watchlist", movie commentaries, and polls to help shape the podcast: https://patreon.com/spectercinema

About the Podcast

Specter Cinema Club
An exploration of the sub-genres that make up our favorite horror movies!
The ghosts of your horror movie club explore a different sub-genre each month! Featuring creators from the spooky community, stoner filmmaker DeVaughn Taylor & film journalist Garrett McDowell discuss the recurring motifs of various sub-genres and what makes the best genre films work. New episodes every Tuesday!

NOTE: We recommend starting at Season 2 (Ep60) as that's when Garrett joined and began our current format. Season 1 was the experimental phase haha
NOTE: The first 99 episodes, we were under "Bloody Blunts" however the show didn't change, so Season 3 is where we continued as "Specter Cinema"
